Governor Ritter appoints Michael A. Anaya, Sr., to Colorado State Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Advisory Council

Governor Bill Ritter has appointed Michael A. Anaya, Sr., FACHE, to the Colorado State Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Advisory Council (SEMTAC).

The mission of the State Emergency Medical and Trauma Services Advisory Council is:

“To develop and promote an effective, comprehensive system for the delivery of care to the sick and injured persons in Colorado in order to prevent death and disability.”

This council is composed of thirty-two members, of whom twenty-five are appointed by the governor for three-year terms. The appointed members of the council represent a broad cross section of professionals in healthcare and emergency responders representing both urban and rural communities. SEMTAC has specific statutory authority that includes advising the department on matters concerning guidelines and standards for the delivery of emergency medical and trauma services throughout the state.

Anaya, who is the CEO of Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, CO, said. “I’m extremely excited about this opportunity to be involved in a capacity that provides state-wide trauma strategy development, capital investment, and management of trauma services for our Colorado communities.”
